Diego Velázquez

Diego Velázquez (1599 to 1660), court painter to Philip IV of Spain, painted the Portrait of Pope Innocent X in Rome in 1650. It hangs in its own cabinet at the Doria Pamphilj Gallery.

The portrait is the single most cited reason to visit the Doria Pamphilj, and the gallery needs no timed reservation, which makes it the easy Velázquez in Europe.
