Marmo
Marmo is marble. Ancient Rome imported coloured marbles from across the empire for floors and columns, and Renaissance and Baroque sculptors carved white Carrara marble for the statues in the Borghese and the Vatican.

The floor of the Pantheon still has its ancient coloured marbles in place, one of the few interiors in Rome where the pavement is original.
