An audio guide is the museum's own recorded commentary, rented at the desk or downloaded as an app. In Rome it often comes bundled with the entry ticket sold by resellers.

At Castel Sant'Angelo the audio guide explains the spiral ramp and the papal apartments, which have almost no wall text, so it does more work there than at a picture gallery.
