Hypogeum
The hypogeum is the underground level of the Colosseum, the corridors and lifts beneath the arena from which animals and scenery were raised. It opens only on the Full Experience ticket or a guided visit.
Example
Standing in the hypogeum reverses the usual view: the arena floor is above, and the cages and ramps explain the machinery of the games better than the stands do.
