Two other Italian openings this month are outside Rome but relevant if your trip extends north or south. In Milan, VOENA is running a show pairing Carol Rama and Rick Owens from 18 September to 20 November, reported by Artribune, which sits closer to design than to classical heritage. In Syracuse, the Ortigia Film Festival has turned its 2026 poster into a painting installation, with three works by Mirko Leuzzi shown at the Ortea Palace. Neither replaces a Rome museum day. Both are worth a detour only if the city is already on your route.
